The Sequel Some people were waiting for maybe idk This is the second upload of this video, to include the disclaimer and also the mini version of the print. Its a shame its not more functional but I dont know what I expected. replacing the hands with regular solder helping hands would make it to be pretty useful but changes the look a lot. But overall I still learnt a lot making it so its a win...

    As someone magnetically challenged, can I get some insight on how this actually works? Particularly the bolts don't really make sense to me here. (how they hold the magnets in place, how they're captive, and why they're important to the overall function)

    it took me longer than I'd like to admit for my brain to realize I shouldn't have been hearing minecraft music. I mean I heard the music and recognized it was minecraft music in like 5 seconds, but it took like 5 minutes for me to realize I wasn't playing minecraft, nor was it open in the background.

    2:12 what style book binding is that? It looks like a composition, but it's remarkably resilient to being folded open. (which seems like it'd be the baseline for a notebook but, well, don't blame me I didn't design them)

    I had a feeling some of those rods were from printers when I noticed flat side at the end of one of the rods, I have disassembled multiple laserjets and have many 6mm rods with flat side to them. I also have motors which one was bad and I pulled that metal cover off that has a magnet ring inside and use it to hold bolts when I disassemble dvd drives / hard disk drives.

    ok can someone tell me what the fuck is a sd card gonna do on a multitool it cant be for cameras you arent gonna have 128-256gbs of photos on a camera and if its for video then youd have all the other shit with you that is cumbersome enough you can fit loads of micro sd cards in it so whats it for and why isnt it just in the pockets you dont use in your wallet if you actually need it

    • @Borgedesigns
      @Borgedesigns 12 дней назад

      Multitools are about being prepared, I can recount probably a dozen times where someone im with has had to go out and buy a card while out for various reasons. more generally having a full sized- micro sd adaptor on hand is useful to go between different cameras.

    Quick release for the bolts would make it faster to adjust

    • @Borgedesigns
      @Borgedesigns 12 дней назад

      I poorly articulated it here, but the bolts are not threaded at all it was just a convenient source of rod, the knobs on the size allow for quick adjustment.

    im curious if mirrors would work. then you could get 1cm to 5mm off the ground or better. High speed cameras that track projectiles (like a shell fired out of a tank) are tracked using a quickly rotating mirror instead of yeeting the camera around which would probably damage the mirror who knows what a little creativity can bring

    You could get even lower if you attach from the top instead of the bottom. They make a 1/4" hot shoe adapter that you could use to grab it from the top. This will result in less straightforward center of gravity sceanrios but if you make it out of concrete it shouldn't be a problem.

  • @BrooksMoses

    That's an excellent design and I look forward to making myself one. A thought I have for a possible improvement is putting a level vial on the back so you can easily get it horizontal from side to side, since I find that difficult when I'm not looking through the viewfinder.
